Amber Roots Lithuanian Heritage Club

October 18, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Hello Amber Roots members and friends. Join us for the October meeting of the Amber Roots Heritage Club.

Of the 1940 population, Lithuania lost 1 million people to deportations, executions, incarceration, the murder of the political opposition, and forced emigration. Of all these we will focus on two: Adele Dirsyte, a teacher, has been nominated for sainthood as a martyr and Juozas Zdebskis, a priest, committed to human rights.

Perhaps you have your own stories of your family or friends’ experiences with deportation to Siberia or working as partisans, being incarcerated or killed during this time. We welcome the stories of others.

Our meeting will be in the Club Room downstairs at the Lithuanian Music Hall, so please use the side entrance along Tilton Street. Refreshments will be served. Looking forward to seeing you.

Iki.
